Introduction

Small, "newbies" telescopes can bring us beyond "first step astronomy". First, observing planets or deep sky objects may be very disappointing. But progressively, our vision gets finer : the Great Red Spot becomes detectable on Jupiter, the Cassini division appears in the Saturn's rings, new deep sky objects are detectable with averted vision... All this experience gained by assiduous use of a small aperture increases the pleasure we have by looking through a larger telescope.

Small instruments also have other qualities : they are not expensive and easily transportable : sometimes, a good site can be more important than the telescope aperture !

You have a beginner's instrument. Have you made full use of it ? So take the time to look through your small telescope and you'll see big into the sky. Before buying a big Dobson, make sure that the Sky has revealed all its secrets with your small telescope !
